Rhustan

Nelafayn Hundred, Meselyneshire, held by Sir Upfer Esomar for Constable Eres Tereneth of Baseta.

This manor in the Nelefayn Hundred controls over 2500 acres – 1540 at Rhustan alone – of prime fertile land. Sir Upfer chafes at being only the bailiff of such a fief, and often agitates at Baseta to be granted Rhustan outright. Sir Upfer is not intelligent enough to realize that he is both irritating Sir Eres who has no authority to grant anything like that and providing the Constable with the motivation to replace him. Only the lack of a suitable candidate and the series of murders have stayed the Constable’s decision.

ARDIS (Reeve) [J5]
A modest fief of 630 acres held by the village reeve. Ardis benefits from its location on the Kald River, and produces a large quantity of dried and salted fish from the village clans specializing in fishing. A weir contructed on river near the northern edge of the village takes advantage of the slight bend in the Kald at that point.

Chunem (Reeve) [J5]
Inland of the river, Chunem is also held by a reeve and consists of only 440 acres. However, they are fertile ones, and those fields not needed to feed the village itself are devoted to flax, bringing in a significant cash payment every harvest.
