The Coven

The Coven, also known as "The Occult Foundation" is a mysterious and secretive spellcaster society. It believes in the code of Universal Law: a set of rules dictating the study of arcane and occult magic.
The Coven's has overwhelming influence over Esperanto. Many fear magic, and see The Coven as the only thing keeping the universe from certain demise. Because of this, The Coven's demands are seldom questioned by commoners and nobles alike.
Many theorize that The Severance  was caused by the divine magic. The Coven therefore labels any divine spellcasting to be Zealotry. The Coven begrudgingly accepts the existence of organized religions, but only if they do not teach techniques to cast divine spells.
Those who practice divine magic are labeled Zealots. The Coven is obsessed with purging Zealots from every corner of the universe.
Members of the The Coven are called Siblings.

Practices

Becoming a Sibling

To become a Sibling, one must perform The Pact of Brotherhood/Sisterhood. This is a Level 8 Occult Ritual which causes the participant to have every spell the user ever casts from that point to be recorded in a ledger. If the caster casts a spell they are not cleared for, they will suffer a heart attack.
