Khovandol
Khovandol is originally a Sea Elf Card game, played using the standard Hamanshironian Fated Tarot card deck, it is one of the most popular of all the Aeareledhel card games, it is one of the games that is most played on the ships, and at Sea Elf Casinos on the mainlands, along with the other races throughout the world
History
Nobody is sure where the game first was played but it was certainly on a ship, when a bunch of crew were bored during their off time on a journey, it quickly spread throughout the Thorol trade fleet, into the Sgiathat War Fleet and onto the mainland, and has only grown in popularity because a single game lasts minutes and thousands of copper, silver or gold pieces could change hands over a night's play.
The game has since passed into gaming establishments all over Hamanshiron as it was transferred to sailors all over the world, then onto the mainland.
Execution
Each player is dealt five cards face down and in the centre of the table which the players need match the suit to, if it is a High king or the Lord of the Underworld they can match it to the colour rather than the suit, the players then throw down the ante, normally a single coin of whatever metal they are playing with, and they check their cards, they need to get a run of the highest cards of the suit they can.
In order to do that they can pay a coin for a card, but they must drop a card into the discard pile and may not have more or less than five cards, but if a player draws the same numbered card of another suit they must replace the central card with it, it becomes the card to match, the player is then dealt another card, this continues until one player either calls Tyea (end), or the deck is complete, the players then reveal their hand, each matching face card is worth 10 points, and each other card is worth a number of points equal the number printed on it. If two players draw because of it being a High King or Lord of the Underworld being matched, the players draw a card, if they both match the colour of the card the highest number wins, if one pulls the colour they win, if both pull the opposite colour they must draw until one of the previous conditions are met. The reason each game takes minutes is that the main condition of the game is that each player has twenty seconds to decide if they want to draw a card and which card to drop or call end and they forfeit their turn but still have to pay a coin, in some establishments they have to pay a forfeit tax of two further coin, if they don't drop a card before their twenty seconds are done then they are knocked out of the game and again many establishments require a knock out tax of five coins.
If there are more than four players in a single game then two decks are used, if there are nine players then three decks are used, there is a maximum table size of twelve. Many casinos actually use double decks as standard, having up to 6 decks at any one time.
