Phaidyme was a noblewoman and the 2nd wife of Bardiya's under Atossa. They married due to Otanes' immense political power in Arsalan. She studied and read every book in the royal library about mysticism and claimed to have been the one to discover Gaumata's shapeshifting abilities. With Roxana's help, they reported the deception to Gobryas and assisted in slaying Gaumata.
Before being wed to Darius, she had a daughter named Parmys. She was unsure if Bardiya was truly the father, but this was never brought into consideration. Despite the circumstances, Darius wed her and her daughter Parmys. They lived in luxury until the day of the insurrection.
