Ariabignes a son of Bardiya and Roxana. After the defeat of Gaumata, he and his elder brother were taken in by Darius the Red. He always felt like an outsider and had a strong feeling that Gaumata the Magi was his father. He knew nothing about him and was never told anything. Arsames shared his outsider perspective and the two of them had a strong attachment.

After the events of the insurrection, Aria escaped in an airship to Eon. there he trained for 5 years in a temple of the Ethereal Soul. There he learned how to tap into a deep mystic knowledge that requires the perfect used of breath and posture. The temple gave him the name Kai which represented leaving his old life behind.

After finishing his trials, he left on a boat with a boar man named Benji who claimed to have found the crown prince of Panterra. When they arrived on Benji's home island, he reunited with his brother Arsames who was now calling himself Leonis. The two had an extremely intimate night together.
