Shar, The Darkness
The Darkness
In some places, Shar is not recognized as part of the Haerasian pantheon. This is due to a deep-rooted distrust of the goddess of darkness who, in fairness, seems to care little for the wellbeing of mortals. Shunned by her rival and twin, Selûne, The Moonmaiden, some insist, to this day, that she is an ally to Bane, The Strife Emperor. Her place within the Haerasian pantheon remains uncertain, but she is not without her role. Especially in times of war. Shar is prayed to for those who are lost, or missing without a trace. Those loved ones that upped and disappeared, never to be seen again. Mortals beseech The Darkness to look after those who have faded away beyond her shroud. She is also called upon by thieves and assassins who thrive under the cover of darkness. Something that is held against her and her priests in cities where there is a temple recognizing her.
