Selûne, The Moonmaiden
The Moonmaiden
Selûne is another goddess taken from the elven pantheon risen into the general, widespread worship of the Haerasian one. Like her younger sister Sehanine, The Moonweaver, the earliest elves believed her to be the celestial body still named after her to this day. Quite unlike her sister however, Selûne acts more aloof and distanced from the mortals who pray to her. They call upon her for guidance if they have to travel underneath the stars, often in conflict with Shar, The Darkness, who she believes to still be in league with Bane, The Strife Emperor, who Selûne faced off against during the Calamity. And while the goddesses seem to tolerate one another, in places where worship of Shar is prevalent, Selûne's direct influence seems to wane. More and more she has taken to the role of an observer, rather than one who partakes in the many conflicts of mortals and gods alike.
