Half-orc

Half-orcs are a relatively new phenomenon on Asteruul. While the specifics are not yet known Half-orcs tend to be found in families of Humans or Orcs that have lived for a long time amidst a larger population of the other species. They tend to have ether Orc or Human mannerisms depending on their surrounding culture. Half-orcs tend to be accepted and liked by their neighbors but it is not unusual for strangers to behave wearily around them, some thinking their mere existence a filthy mistake.   Half-Orcs have the basic shape and proportions of Humans but with a green or brown-green tinge in their skin. They also have small tusks and slightly pointier ears then Humans. Half-orcs live together with their parents in a similar environment, often joining a parents clan, guild or community since they love the feeling of community offered by a larger organization.

Basic informations

Lore

The one-eyed god Gruumsh created the ores, and even those ores who turn away from his worship can't fully escape his influence. The same is true of half-orcs though their human blood moderates the impact of their orcish heritage. Some half-ores hear the whispers of Gruumsh in their dreams, calling them lo unleash the rage that simmers within them. Others feel Gruumsh's exultation when they join in melee combat-and either exult along with him or shiver with fear and loathing. Half-ores are not evil by nature, but evil does lurk within them, whether they embrace it or rebel against it. Beyond the rage of Gruumsh, half-ores feel emotion powerfully. Rage doesn't just quicken their pulse, it makes their bodies burn. An insult stings take acid, and sadness saps their strength. But they laugh loudly and heartily, and simple bodily pleasures-feasting, drinking, wrestling, drumming, and wild dancing-fill their hearls with joy. They tend to be short-tempered and sometimes sullen, more inclined to action than contemplation and to fighting than arguing. The most accomplished half-ores are those with enough self-control to get by in a civilized land.   Most half-orcs can be found in close proximity to orcish encampments, situated on Tanah-Kami. Those kids tend to be the effect of rape. Orcs rulling this archipelago tend to gather tibute from passing ships willing to bypass dangers of Thrinos and the open seas. Ruthless and agressive they don't take no for an answer and sometimes raid nearby setlements for goods and slaves. Both of which can be later sold to Yuan-Ti in their floating city.

Age

Half-orcs mature a little faster than humans, reaching adulthood around age 14. They age noticeably faster and rarely live longer than 75 years.

Alignment

Half-orcs inherit a tendency toward chaos from their orc parents and are not strongly inclined toward good. Half-orcs raised among orcs and willing to live out their lives among them are usually evil.
