Tyrant's Fall

On the cold region of the North, during the Purifiers Expeditions there was a servant of Bane, god of war and conquest. His name was long forgotten in time, however his deed were not.   Legend says he made his way alone to a keep under control of a influent Asmodeus' cult, killed everyone that was there and claimed the keep for himself, hoisting Bane's banner ont the top of the keep. The story soon echoed across the North and many dared to invade the recent conquered keep and lay their hands on the cult's treasure. Nevertheless, no one that tried was heard of.   Three weeks after conquering the keep and defending it from raiders, a small group of 20 knights approached the keep under Bane's banner. On the dawn of the next day, four groups left the keep and returned when the sun was setting, carrying wagons of goods, slaves chained and being pulled by horses. On that night, the sounds of celebration and echoes of agonizing man were carried by the wind.   For the following month, the nearby villages were raided almost daily by Bane's raiders demanding goods or money. Any kind of resistance was met with steel and violence. The villages who failed on paying their taxes, would have some of their villagers taken back to the keep to face the lord on the keep. Usually, they would be tortured personally by him.   After the month of terror, a mysterious figure clad in dark armor arrived at the keep. The tyrant and the mysterious figure started fighting inside the keep and finished on the verge of a waterfall. The figure trespassed a dark sword through the heart of the tyrant who fell on the waterfall.   Later on, when the Purifiers arrived at the North, they found the keep with the bodies of the tortured. On the main room, they found 20 bodies slashed as if they were attacked by a vicious beast. On the center of the room, the Bane's banner lied half burned. On top of it, the tyrant brokne helm, that was trespassed by a dark sword. When the Purifiers touched the sword, it vanished in a dark fog.   Until now, some people believe that the mysterious warrior that brought the tyrant to his demise was a herald from Asmodeus as a reminder of who was the rightful owner of that land.
