Etherial navigators

When on the ocean, military ships fear that submarines will catch up to and destroy them. While most naval ships stay on top of the water, submarines have a lot more freedom of movement. Now, imagine what it would be like to experience something similar in the air. Well, ghost ships are responsible for this possibility on Gryst. They make use of the ethereal plane to move freely without being detected by all but the best technology. Non-magical airplanes most often have a high risk of detection, especially when carrying heavy loads. Magic crystals allow the ethereal ships to move in and out from the material plane like a needle through cloth. Stats vary based on model and size. Commonly used by developed countries and affluent private organizations. All ships are registered in Corthalia due to contract. All ships are property of Corthalia lent out to other organizations not restricted by the government.

Armor and defense

Stagnant magic shieldto buffer ethereal turbulence and dampen explosive rounds that strike the hull. Hull is made of 2 inch thick steeland a classified alloy as an inner coating. Weapons and engines surrounded by anti-explosive charges. Shaped charges on wings and cockpit to redirect explosions outwards.
