Resonator

Resonators are those who become part of fairy tales and legends. Through their lives, some events may happen and at the end of the person's life, they are reborn as a resonator. Be it as a hero or as a villain, each resonator knows their story but do not remember their past lives. Often times those they knew would recognize them but the new resonator wouldn't remember anything about that person.   Each resonator has items called Relics that link them to the stories. These items can be as small as a ring or a large as an airship. If these items are taken from a resonator for a long period of time, their resonance can start fading away, causing the resonator themselves to disappear.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Being parts of stories, there are often Villains and Heros who are reborn. While their story influences their personality greatly, characters are not always the same as their written counterparts. While Heros are often seen as kind and brave, often continuing the roles written into their stories, Villains are often judged and kept at arms reach, despite many not wishing to continue their plans and those who do are often stopped by a large number of adventures and Heros in the world.   Many who wish to avoid their stories all together often go to Lunae Luman or to the edges of the world. Countries in the west are much more strict on the idea of Heros and Villain, beliving if allowed to roam free they will cause chaos. In many parts on the continent, Villains are watched closely and some are marked and arcane runes that do not allow them to leave cities without permits and guardians.

Naming Traditions

Resonators, as a by-product of not remember their past lives, go by their character names such as Red Riding Hood or Cinderella. Often these stories have changed in the name and the person uses it to help stand out while others who wish to avoid their stories reject their names altogether and create a new one for themselves.   A resonator also has what is known as Titles, the name their story has given them. For example, there are many Alices but only one Alice Who Walks in Twilight. It is said that if a resonator gives someone their title, that person gains the ability to call upon and use the power of their Ever After. When learning a title, a person becomes aware of the details of the resonator's story and will feel when that story comes to end.
