Teerkappe

As we made our way down the hill we took in the scents of the forest below us. We had finally made it over the Zeanswall. The path was getting flatter now and as we approached the treeline, we noticed how big the trees that towered over us really were. Going down the path into the thicket at the border of this wood I was amazed by the sheer amount of different species and plants growing in this forest. Night was falling so we made a camp, mabye three hours into the forest, when I tread into something sticky. My curiosity was hooked when I saw that I couldn't move my shoe and for that matter my foot anymore. It was stuck in a black gooy substance which seemed to be of a shroom that grew on the ground. I instantly drew out my notebook and sketched this interesting fungus, with its black parasol that had little streaks of white in it going from the tip to the rim. It was only about 10 cm tall, standing in the middle of a patch of the tar I was stuck on. When my comerades were tired of waiting they helped me out of my boot, which they then barely managed to free from the sticky substance.

Basic Information

Anatomie

It is about 10 cm tall with a cap in a cone shape. Streaks of white run down from the top of the cap all the way to the rim. The stem is very short being only 2-3 cm long. An interesting detail is the mycel, which spreads about 30 cm away from the shroom and is extremely sticky.

It has only very limited perception of its surroundings, because its a shroom.

It only grows in the rainforest of Sapporo.

Erhaltungsstatus

Though it is a very rare species it is not under special protection, because it is generally conceived that this mushroom is a good omen.
