Mo-gesh

Physical Description: Mo-gesh probably have the most varied appearance out of all the known races. Most Mo-gesh look like bipedal salamanders. Their skin is smooth to the touch and comes in many natural color variations. The intensity of their coloration fluctuates depending on their emotions and during courtship. Their long tails are flattened laterally and are their main mode of locomotion underwater. Less common but still regularly seen are the Mo-gesh that appear as aquatic lizards. Their scales are fine but still obvious in comparison to the more common Mo-gesh. This variation is more likely to have lungs than gills. Their colorations are less varied and bright, nor does their color change with mood. The last two types are lumped together, as they are quite rare. Some less experienced members of society might mistake them for a different species entirely. Their appearance is similar to that of crocodilian and saurian. These two variations come in colors ranging through green, brown, grey, and black. They are always lunged and have the bite attack option.   While these might have been separate species at one point in time, likely before the catastrophic flood, they are collectively considered a single race. They are capable of interbreeding, and parents of a single variation may give birth to a child of another.   Ability Scores: 18, 18, 14, 14, 12, 10. One of the 18s must be in Dexterity or Wisdom, and the other cannot be in Intelligence but can otherwise be allotted to any ability score. The 10 cannot be allotted to Dexterity or Wisdom.   Racial Buoyancy: -20   Depth Tolerance: 300ft   Size: Mo-gesh can be medium or small sized creatures. Size is chosen at creation and does not change.   Speed: 30ft swim, 20ft land if medium. 20ft swim, 15ft land if small.   Breathing: Most Mo-gesh breathe air using lungs. There are occasional exceptions when one is born with feathery protrusions just behind the head that act as gills. These individuals can breathe water, but not air. Mo-gesh can survive for 1 hour per 2 points of Constitution in the opposite environment for which they can breathe in normally.   Bestial Senses: +2 racial bonus to perception checks. They receive a check to notice movement whenever it happens within 50 feet of them, whether or not they are actively looking.   Natural Attack: Mo-gesh can choose one of the following:

Grasping Tongue: Mo-gesh can use their tongue to grapple opponents that are up to 10ft away. This does not provoke an attack of opportunity or incur penalties for not having both hands free. Normal rules for grappling otherwise apply.

Bite Attack: Primary natural attack that inflicts 1d8 points of damage. This is a secondary attack if the Mo-gesh wields any other weapon.

Unusual Thought Processing: If you fail a Will saving throw, you may roll again but you must take the second roll's result.   Obsessive: +2 racial bonus on a specific Profession skill of their choice, and one Craft or Knowledge skill of their choice.   Languages: Common and Gesh-par. Mo-gesh with a high Int score can choose: Aquan, Draconic, Ceti, and Delatari.
