Westgate

Westgate is primarily a residential district and always has been; some families that reside here date back to the early days of the city. While the richest families reside in the Petal District , that wealth is sometimes seen as a corrupting influence. Because of that, Westgate is often held up as the paragon of Absalom culture.

Demographics

Primarily human, elf or half-elf. The district isn't outwardly xenophobic but behind closed doors there is a bias against non-humans

Government

Run by Crescent Star, the districts local council. Currently the Lady Seleenae of House Damaq is Nomarch of the council.

Defences

Westgate is named after it's Sally Gate, this is one of two land entrances into the city. Because of this militarily important structure, the district is defended by the Kortos Cavalry. They are the cities only land based mounted unit and they are very thorough at keeping law and order in the district.
