Eastgate
Eastgate, like Westgate, is primarily a residential district that is defined by it's strategic entry into the city. The northern portion is an area that was previously its own district, called Green Ridge, that is prized for it's natural beauty. It was merged into Eastgate after the earthquake of 4698. Much of it has been developed since then, sparking ire from followers of the Green Faith.
Demographics
Some neighbourhoods are segregated into traditional Absalom ancestries (humans, halflings, elves, etc.) but the district is broadly more diverse than most of the city.
Government
It is run by the Eastgate Council, who's current Nomarch is Lord Ayunga of House Akkesh, who is also the Captain of the local guards.
Defences
The main gate here is called the Postern and it's guards are therefore called the Post Guard. Generally, the district is well controlled by the local guards and the Post Guards are only used against external threats.
Industry & Trade
The economy here is more diverse than most of Absalom. Markets, residential houses, local crafters and artisans, as well as a strong law and order presence.
Assets
The Blue Tower is located in Eastgate. It's the tallest building in the city and is the home base for the Winged Sandals.
Inside the Green Ridge area is the Grant Holt, an enormous multi-trunked Fig tree that spans several city blocks. It is fiercely guarded by a group of nature lovers called the Circle of Stones.
