The Long Season of Ice

The Long Season of Ice, also know as the Long Winter, was a historical event that happened back in an ancient and unknown time. This event was one of the most lethal disaster the continent of the Realms have ever seen because all species of life forms across the whole continent almost died out. All of the realms were covered with snow up to the hight of a full human. The weather became so rough that the roads between towns and cities became impossible to travel. Not even the messaging ravens could make the journey so all communications shut down. All towns and cities were forced into a lockdown and many died to the famine. The Long Season of Ice lasted a whole decade until a weapon of fire is forged using fire magic bring spring back to the continent. Some people believe the Long Season of Ice was brought to the continent of the realms by the failure of a creation that tried to harness ice magic by the elves and the dwarves. Others believe the long winter was brought by the breaking of the alliance between the elves and the dwarves. The rest believe the long winter was brought by no one but nature. However, there was an evidence to the first two reasons. It was recorded that during the Long Winter that the Orb of Sight from the Central Realm foresaw that the only way for the Long Winter to be over was to reforge the alliance between elves and dwarves and create a tool crafted from fire. The foresight was full-filled by the Knight of Flames and weapon was the Flaming Star.

Manifestation

The Long Season of Ice was like any regular winter in terms of colour of snow and ice, so the written documents recorded. The difference was the non-stop snowstorms, hail, and blizzards.
