Homing Coins

'The kind looking half-elf presses something cold into your hand and bids you goodbye. You look down, you're holding a gold piece. Upon further insepction the coin is not what it originally appeared to be. There is no carving of Fyren on its face, instead you see a different rune on either side. You don't recognise either, but soon both start to glow, almost like the first light of dawn. When the light falls on your face you grow sleepy and close your eyes. When you open them again in front of you stands a bustling war camp.'

The Homing Coin is an enchanted gold piece. On one side the celestial rune for Home is engraved, on the other side the celestial rune of Binding. It is used and was created by The Knights of the New Dawn to allow people to safely travel to their camp, with out fear of passing through the Void-Drowned Plains. These are often given to newly freed slaves, or people they wish to recruit into their organisation.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Taking hold of one of these coins once activate will lead to the holder being put under a trance and being compelled to walk to Fort Hope. The coins are also embuded with the holy blessing of Quanlin, Goddess of Mercy (patron of The Knights of the New Dawn) so the holder is able to travel without food or rest, and they are also protected from the dangers of the Void-Drowned Plains on their travels.
Note: if a person is sick, or badly injured Homing Coins should not be used on them, as their use may result in death.

Significance

These coins have allowed The Knights of the New Dawn to free large groups of slaves and send them to safety, without fear of them dying before they become free.
