Efforos
Efforos is the breadbasket of the Triumvirate. The Thalassa ocean forms its southern border while the Koryfi mountains lie in the north. The mountains obstruct the warm ocean air currents, returning their water to Thalassa through a series of rivers. Those rivers are the veins that give Efforos life.
In this age of the Triumvirate, the Harvasmen call Efforos home. Their spirit intertwines nature and civilization, granting them a unique aptitude for farming. But Efforos is more than fields and pastures. The city of Ganwala rises up like a willow from the confluence of three mighty rivers; the Jhelu, the Ascaduin, and the Akomero. Its bridges arch across the rivers like roots. People and animals flow along these elevated paths just as ships and cargo flow atop the waters below.
Geography
Efforos is a floodplain bordered by an ocean to the south, mountains to the north and west, and a desert to the east. A series of rivers converge in central Efforos to form the mighty Akomero river. In the spring the Akomero can swell to cover the middle third of Efforos.
Fauna & Flora
Efforos is dominated by grasslands, rivers, and the floodplains where the two converge. The wide plains are home to large herds of herbivores which in turn attract impressive predators. Birds and fish alike will migrate vast distances to the plains in the rainy season. The circle of life and death ebbs and flows like the rivers of Efforos.
Along its mountainous borders, the steppes are home to forests. The boughs of the trees shelter more independent herbivores. Raptors make their homes amongst the rocky outcrops.
Natural Resources
The Akomero and its tributaries provide vast amounts of fresh water. In turn the Harvasmen use that water to power the most productive farms in the Triumvirate. All manner of produce can be raised from the fertile soils of Efforos. Multiple types of grains depending on the season. Water intense fruits like cranberries. Even fruit and tubers can be grown by combining the roots of the orchard with the vines of the tubers.
The large herds are another source of natural riches. Though the Harvasmen and Gandharvas shy away from meat, men and dwarves make use of the abundant fauna. Domesticated animals can be placed in pastures. Others can be hunted for their meat and useful portions. And schools of fish are more than plentiful during the spawning season.
