Althea of Genguna (a.k.a. Althea the Gentle, Faebearer)
“I’m Althea, but I already know your name Ratimir. Ilva sent me a letter before you got here!” Ilva shrugged when he turned to her. The young Trentalvi, he could tell, was full of energy and wonder. Her wide green eyes were gawking at him, and she walked around in a circle to examine him. “Wow, your tail is so fluffy... Can I touch it?”
“Althea,” Ilva scolded.
“I was just curious...” the girl pouted. Immediately she snapped back into her cheerful self and exclaimed, “Oh, you must be starving! Come inside, I prepared dinner for all of us!”
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
She's one of the more fragile Trentalvi; it is easier to break her limbs and chop off her bark. Other than that, she gets the ideal amount of sunlight each day and exercises regularly.
Body Features
Althea's bark is dark brown and relatively rough. She is smaller than the average Trentalvi, with a waifish figure and small hands.
Facial Features
Althea's face is very square, with an angular jaw. Her nose is long and flat while her mouth has a thick upper lip with a small lower one. Her green eyes are high on her head and are mono-lidded, and because she is Trentalvi she has no eyelashes. Small leaves make up her eyebrows while the much long vines drape around her face.
Physical quirks
Althea is almost constantly bouncing on the balls of her feet, ready to run at a moment's notice. She drums her fingers on the table or bounces her leg when she's bored or been sitting too long. Her eyes move around frequently to take in all her surroundings.
Apparel & Accessories
She wears the classic garments of Trentalvi with a great assortment of colorful necklaces that cover her torso. The skirt she wears is made out of bright silks of blue, pink, and green.

She carries a handmade backpack with all her medical equipment and journal in it.

Personal history
Althea was born in the Grand Forest, like all Trentalvi. The first years of her life as a Bud were difficult. She had a hard time paying attention in classes and would frequently wander out of the village. Eventually, the town alchemist took her under his wing so that she would be able to learn at her own pace.
When she reached her Bough years, she encountered a Dahl woman named Ilva who was traveling through the town to meet with the Luxidels. This was the first time she'd met someone of a different race, so she latched onto Ilva quickly. The young Trentalvi frequently wrote to her after that, asking questions about the culture and traditions of the Dahl. Althea found her calling: to research the cultures and subcultures of all the races.
Then the Plague broke out, and she was forced to stay with the alchemist to heal the sick. The alchemist died from the Plague before they could find a cure, and Althea left the town in order to find the cure from other races' technology. Ilva agreed to meet her on the road to the human kingdom, so she joined their band of travelers.

She likes long walks in the forest, climbing trees, analyzing specimens she collects, creating medicine, traveling, snow, rivers, small animals, birds, braiding Human/Dahl hair, putting makeup on Humans/Dahl, reading scientific books, performing experiments, fireflies, and gemstones.
However Althea dislikes salt water (dries up her leaves fast), fire, trimming her leaves, monochrome views, and brawling.
