Rathae
Also known as: Mother Night, the Crimson Queen, the Crimson Lady
One of the Blood Gods of the vampiric pantheon, Rathae is the goddess of bloodshed and the night. She's the second youngest of the five siblings, but due to her elder sister Ishali's general indifference to her place in the heirarchy of power Rathae is considered the dominant female member of the pantheon.
Rathae is generally viewed as cold, vain, and cruel, but ultimately more predictable than the rest of her siblings. She's straightforward in expecting unwavering loyalty and devotion from her followers, and so long as they fulfill these expectations she'll be pleased. While she's proud of her place within the pantheon, she's far less ambitious than her male counterpart Bloodbane, and is more concerned with her own pleasure and comfort than she makes the effort to actively pursue power; however, Rathae is also the most vicious of the Blood Gods in how she responds to any perceived slight and fully earns her reputation as the goddess of bloodshed.

Depictions
Alone among the blood gods in that she's typically depicted in her more humanlike form, Rathae is always depicted as a flawlessly beautiful young woman. She has dark hair and crimson eyes, and is typically shown in form-fitting dresses of crimson fabric with flowing skirts that drape like liquid. Her long nails are shown painted bright red, often giving the impression of bloodstained hands. While he's not present in every picture, depictions of Rathae often include her monstrous servant known as Old Night as a stark reminder of the price of earning the goddess's displeasure. Any depictions of Rathae should be crafted to the highest level of skill, as a poor representation is said to be more than enough to draw her ire. It's customary to spare no expense in the creation of a tribute to Rathae, and she's often sculpted from precious metals or portrayed in mosaics inlaid with gemstones and vibrant colors.Typical Chosen
When claiming new vampires as her own, Rathae favors physical beauty and talent over all else. She wants her chosen to be an extension of her own perfection and is accordingly selective; followers of hers who are disfigured or otherwise lose their beauty can find themselves rapidly falling out of favor. Rathae will commonly play favorites among her followers, showering her gifts upon any individual that catches her attention before casting them aside just as carelessly once her interest wanes. Dedicated followers of Rathae are often these favorites, with Rathae taking a rare few among them to be her lovers for a time, and work tirelessly to keep themselves in her good graces. To be the subject of the goddess's focus can be a dangerous thing, and while an object of her desire has much to gain it's also treacherously easy to overstep and find themselves facing her wrath instead. Though some choose to seek widereaching power with Rathae's strength behind them, many of her favorites find themselves more interested in the same sort of hedonism that Rathae herself seems most interested in.Associated Mythology
