King’s Aid

The King’s Aid¹ acts as overseer of the royal court, the palace and council. When the King is unavailable to attend council or any other events the King’s Aid will speak on his behalf.
The current King’s Aid is Gebrel Rosebrook, the mother of the late Queen Paulette, she took up the position after Paulette’s marriage to King Jerrold. She still mourns the death of her daughter and has no love for Queen Phayerora.

Master of Coin

The Master of Coin holds the purse strings of the Ozalum Dynasty. They oversee taxes, expenditures and any other profits of the Dynasty.
Garth Truecutter is the current master of coin, he was one of the council members replaced after Jerrold took the throne.

Master of Trade

The Master of Trade controls all imports and exports outside Ozalum. They also are responsible for making sure that any merchants and traders operate within the rules and stipulations of their license. Marteena Borotsk currently holds the position of Master of Trade, a non-native to Ozalum she is the only member of the main council who isn’t human. A gnomish woman who joined the council during Urias reign and has proven so effective at her job that she has never been considered for replacement.

Master of Law

The Master of Law enforces all the laws of Ozalum. They run the various prison and jails as well as overseeing the work of all guards, recruiters and bounty hunters.
General Zasum Dhesta served with King Jerrold in the military and joined the council when Jerrold took the throne.

Master of Knowledge

The Master of Knowledge is the record keeper of the Dynasty. They not only keep record of all council meetings and major events, but gather as much information about everything that they possibly can.
Ebrurn Hearthide, the Master of Knowledge, is an elderly lady and the longest serving member of the council, she cares little for politics and remains on the council as it is the best way to fulfil her ambitions. Ebrurn has however started a friendship with Queen Phayerora much to Gebrel’s annoyance.

Master of Secrets

The Master of Secrets operates a ring of spies and secret police that gather information from all corners of Ozalum. A few of these spies have been sent on missions abroad but is not a primary concern.
Jella Crystalspark, the Master of Secrets is another surviving member of the previous council. Wise enough to know not to upset the transition and with enough information about enough individuals to secure her safety.

Master of Labour

The Master of Labour oversees any sort of work that involves intense physical activity. Agriculture, construction and transportation etc.
The current Master of Labour is Varden Karl, a recent appointment to the council after the death of the previous Master.

Emissary of the Frost Warren

The Emissary of the Frost Warren is a brand-new position, only having existed since the annexation of the elves. The Emissary has no real power and is purely a decorative position created so that the Frost Warren would come quietly. Their only real job is to feed back information from the Frost Warren to Ozalum and vice-versa.
Umelar is an elf who was a long-trusted advisor to the Prince Regent, he was selected for this position for his loyalty to the Prince.

Structure

The King's Aid oversees the other members of the council and is responsible for relaying any information discussed in council meetings back to King Jerrold II.

Public Agenda

The goal of the Council is to keep Ozalum running smoothly and ensure that there is enough gold in the treasury from taxes to fund Jerrold's army.
