Order of the Paladins

Humans finest in combat, the paladins excel on both phisical and magical abilities. They are the most powerful military force if we exclude the powerful magic users of the Imperial mages. Even if they may not beat a Knight in only phisical combat, or a mage in only magical combat, the combination of the two is what makes the paladin stand out to the former two.

Grandmaster of the Order of the Paladins

Leader of the Order of the Paladins, he is chosen from the grand marshals , vote vote between themselves to choose the next grandmaster, after being chosen, he will remaon grandmaster until he dies, chooses to retire from old age or other causes that impede him for carrying his duty or the very grand marshals that chosed him vote to remove him.

Grand Marshal

These are the most powerful paladins in the order. They vote between themselves to choose the next Grandmaster. When a military action or a campaign in carried out they or the grandmaster will lead the paladins.

Paladin Captain

These are the renown paladins of the order. In a military action or campaign, they serve under the grandmarshal, and the lead paladins.

Paladin

Paladins who have not gain renown or prove themselfs, so they stay in their ranks of paladins.

Paladin aprentice

To enter the Order of the Paladins, you must past a few tests, and completing all of them to prove yourself to the order. Then you spend several months under an instructor, once finished each aprentice is assigned a paladin or paladin captain to be their mentor. Once the mentor thinks the apprentice is prepared, he can propose the apprentice to a test to gain the rank of paladin

Public Agenda

They are under direct orders of the emperor, but have several freedoms and authority of their own. Paladins are the elite of the empire and prove that on the battlefield.

History

The Order of the paladins was founded by Gel I during the mid of his reign, the empire had grown considerably, and while there was a miliatry, sometimes it was needed a force of powerful soldiers to be use inmediatly or just an elite force to protect the emperor on the battlefield. So the order of the paladins was crated to fulfil that role.
They are also the elite of the elite proven many times, with the passing of time, they have transition from a small force that mainly protected the emperor or acted as a small spearhead, into a now moderate force.
