Aashan
People of the Hearth
“Life is not so easy, I know it, my father knows it, and the rest of my kin knows it. Despite the trepidation of a spiteful land, the Aashan will thrive; no other will ever spread as far as we, The sands may claim some, but it shall never break us, for we have hope.”Even before the hero, the Aashan had spread far and wide, their abilities and resolve taking them to many places the light, and shadow, touched. However, The demon terrified all, snuffing out entire cities and bloodlines. Yet today many tribes and the proud kingdom of Jivana stand strong. Traders, adventurers, thieves, warriors, alchemists, mages; capable of taking the forms they came into the world with, the Aashan guarantee that their triumphant- or bittersweet- ends will be of their choosing.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humanoid in nature, the Aashan are mammalian with two ears, eyes, feet, hands, arms, and the like.
Hair
The typical pallet of hair colors for Aashan range in shades of the darkest of blacks, and browns, with other hair colors being the result of interbreeding with other humanoid races, hair beauty products, strange mutations, or magical outcomes.Eyes
The standard array of eye colors apply, with additions of amber, a red of sorts, and a strange occurrence of blue in select members of the population.Dietary Needs and Habits
In comparison to most other Humanoid species/races, the Aashan find themselves requiring far less water when moving at a slow, but steady pace. This nature of inactive water retention has heightened relations and dependence on beasts of burden, or strange devices like sleds, for long-range transport.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Aashan males typically sport the likes of beards, and mustaches by the time they are a few years into puberty. Unless tended to with a blade, this excess hair could grow to lengths of near unreasonable consideration.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Due to the exploratory, and migratory patterns that the Aashan typically display, they are some of the most abundant sapient life in Dasht-e Zerrin, second only to The Rakshi. Typically Aashan settlements can be found close to rivers, oasis, and the coastline, however with advances in agriculture and animal husbandry, they are also able to inhabit villages upon the mountains, and more various biomes.
Average Intelligence
For Aashan in Raj Jivana Aasha, The Largest Aashan Kingdom, the average intelligence is actually quite high. Their patron goddess is a spearhead for knowledge, demanding much of her children. Even the most average tribal would be quite competent in various fields. To disappoint the goddess is to fail her- sociological suicide.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Compared to normal humans of other planes, this particular human variant is far more attuned to the natural phenomenon of Chakra, and specifically the sensing of such within others.
Unless trained in the specific arts of the body, this extrasensory ability only guides their perception of others' states of being in a way that's slightly improved over typical Humans.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
The typical tradition for Aashan, under the protection of Jivana, is to have a first and last name. First names are specially meant to hold meaning. This is typically perceived as a parent's hope for their child's development, but it is ultimately up to the parent.
Tribes may have their own conventions, such as a first name, a family name, and a tribe name. Some cultures may even use the dominant parent's first name as their last name.
For the Sake of roleplay, consider names congruent to Iranian, Indian, Arabic, or related regions. Some abrahamic names can be fit in.
Major Organizations
Raj Jivana Aasha [Multi racial, but majority Aashan]
Silver Doves [Multi racial, but has a strong presence of Aashan]
Beauty Ideals
Typically, beauty ideals of the Aashan have to do with the perspective looks and intelligence of the partner. From a primitive perspective, it is one thing to be strong enough to fight threats off, but it is another thing to know which areas have abundant food, and which areas are less likely to be disturbed by the Demon Storms.
Certain areas of note include hair, eyes, and general secondary sexual organs. The specific wants of an individual Aashan are ultimately up to them.
Gender Ideals
Overall, Males are expected to engross themselves in the arts of conflict, opportunity costs, and learn all they can to push forward even at the cost of their own lives.
Overall, Females are expected to engross themselves in the arts, social navigation, and learn all they can to set down roots and make sure the people thrive even at the cost of personal happiness.
The above is a generalization as various tribes and Jivania are meritocratic in most iterations, except for where traditions may lean one way, or the other.
Courtship Ideals
For one to arrange various events, and gatherings with the latter, to involve each other in their lives as healthily possible.
Relationship Ideals
To complete one another in the now, and to find a partner that is willing to endure the massive journey that is life.

Common Dress Code
Typically Aashan are clad in attire such as:
The Shalwar Kameez, Tunics, and other sorts of eastern-inspired robes. Although some may have found themselves with some attire from far off lands.
Common Taboos
Of all the other races to intermingle with, it is absolutely taboo to partake in the acts that create a Medusa. Even if the party didn't consent to the acts that created the Aashan-Naga Hybrid, they will also pay a price dependent on the local authority.
History
Coming far after the ascension of the Aashan Goddess, her people would scatter to the four corners of the continent of Dasht-e Zerrin, flourishing and competing in a natural sense. Many Kingdoms and religious orders would arise from simple tribes. Tested again and again, these kingdoms would finally find peace among one another.... Then The Demon arrived, his arrival marked by mysterious lights colored in ways not seen on Gehane. Their golden age of tolerance, and unity, crumbled like their walls, barely sediment among the sands of today.
Split into many tribes, the peoples would drift apart, struggling to survive; Ants to the Starfell Demon's Power. Some tribes hid in the ground, some thrived in zones the Starfallen couldn't touch, and many kept traveling.
Time would pass, and soon an Aashan son of the wise Simurg would come across a large tribe. After many adventures, and the Starfell War, many Aashan tribes were united into the dream of Raj Jivana Aasha- The Kingdom of life, by the River of hope.
Not all tribes joined the Hero's kingdom, some staying in their ancestral lands/traditions.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Rakshi
Rakshi were once Aashan, but due to chaotic mutation, they have been changed in ways that classify them as different. Typically Rakshi are very intertwined with larger Aashan societies, so there's no massive shock to having a neighbor with scales speckling their arms. Yet there is an undercutting pity, and belittling perspective some hold.
Naga
Naga are typically an Aashan's sworn rival, if not straight enemy... only society and laws hold back animosity. Glass Elves have always been an enigma.
Hecklin
Hecklin can be considered an ally, when the proper steps are taken. Never leave your guard down around such curious, and explosive-prone creatures. They could potentially turn on an Aashan... it's best that these people largely war amongst themselves.
Sandling Sentinel
Some Aashan may feel pity for the being, regardless of their original race, while others would have no qualms with ending a sentient, and calm Sandling Sentinel. It varies on personal context, and location.
