Gehane

A land of mystery, a mighty glow to rival the sky itself. The Desert, Dasht-e Zerrin is an unforgiving mistress of golden sands, searing and pressuring the infinitely infantile races that cling to her surface. In the face of this heat and pressure come gemstones, virtuous, of blood, or dull gleaming stones devouring the light around them, for the faintest sparkle. Writhing and raging within its sand scoured lands, part of a primordial and cosmic dead god burns against it's bondage. This bondage being all that keeps it from wiping the desert clean, in an eldritch spectacle of Armageddon. But even amidst this starlit land, there is life, fighting for its right to survive, and with the blessing of their living Gods, even thrive. But where there is light, is darkness, and the desert is ever a cruel mistress, an immutable foe, but indeed also a harsh but fair mother.   Inspired by Middle/South Eastern Lore, with hints of Native American, and North African Mythology twisted in.
