Judge

Imperial God, Fair Judge, Judge of the Dead.

Judge is arguably the second most important among Imperial Gods of White Pantheon. According to some of the myths, he worked as Ember replacement when he was for some reason absent. He is also believed to be a sole judge and chief mediator in conflicts that might happen in the Heavens.   His most important occupation is being the person to judge all of the Dead. Whether they qualify for the Heaven or are bound to spend eternity in Gehenna - this decision remains solely in the Judge hands. His judgments are always fair, since he knows everything about the Dead he is judging - including their thoughts and reasons for every decision they ever made.   He resides in the Ceaseless Tribunal with his wife, Mercy, together with an expansive archive that supposedly is filled with detailed description of life of every single mortal being inhabiting Light. Archives of the Tribunal - governed by Judge, Mercy, and Death - are accessible for those inhabitants of Heaven that wish to learn more about what happened (and why it happened) during their lifetime.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Judge goals are, as in case of all gods, completely impossible to discern by humans. He seems to be focused solely on judging the Dead, without any deeper thoughts. His actions in Real World happen even rarer than Ember's.

Physical Description

Body Features

Manifests in a form of man wearing a hooded robe, with open book in one hand and scales in the other (or just scales). Alternatively as simple man with a scale.

Special abilities

Just as all gods, Judge is omnipotent and omniscient, his power over reality limited only by influences of other beings similar to his. He is more than capable of forging completely new reality with but a friction of power - after all Ceaseless Tribunal is practically a world, as 'real' for its inhabitants as 'real' world is for mortals.   As any god Judge isn't limited to 'today', as there is no 'today' for gods. They exist simultaneously in every 'now' of every 'today' from the moment the world is created to the moment of its eventual demise. The only reason they limit themselves to human concept of time is to interact with them without being too 'alien' for them.   Judge is also capable of creating literally unlimited numbers of daemons - not to mention as many types of them as he wishes. He could also create as many species in real life, but decided against it.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Judge history is shrouded in darkness. He is one of six Primordial Gods, from which all other Imperial Gods are descended. Their exact origin is unknown, however. Noone knows how did they came to be, they simply... were. Those that dare to tread roads of religion with more scientific approach suggest that he might have been once one of Falon the Conqueror closest companions, before he became Ember. Rewarded in the afterlife with godhood as well.   According to ancient myths, Judge used to be a lone person... and a merciless judge. It lasted until Ember decided to create him a proper companion. Thus, Mercy was born, created from Ember's power as Primordial God. Judge fell in love with her immediately. She was much more resistant to his charms, but after he spent enough time trying, she finally was swayed. Since then they remain a married couple, and one rather compatible with each other.

Sexuality

Sexually active, had several children with Mercy. No signs of any extramarital activity.

Morality & Philosophy

Judge is an epitome of justice... but a harsh one. He is a legalist to the core, always ensuring that everything happened according to written law - both in spirit and in word. Without Mercy he would be utterly... merciless. With her... he sometimes changes his opinion to reflect some other values than written law.   In a way Judge can be considered a sociopath. He is not only merciless, but he has next to no believe in some intrinsic value of mortal lives. He is supposed to judge them - and judgment can and in many occasions will be harsh. If not the relatively just law of Ember that he is supposed to enforce, he might have as well be a god of Black Pantheon - even if the law was unjust, he would still enforce it with the same tediousness and precision.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Obvious dislike for anarchists and everybody that opposes the laws. That are sacred to the Judge. On the other hand, he equally obvious likes those that uphold the law.

Social

Family Ties

He has a wife, Mercy, with whom he has four children: Death, Capital, Sage and Purity.

Religious Views

Tends to see religion as all gods do. A sort of contract between mortals and immortals.   Gods provide afterlife and make sure that mortals won't blow up their world to smitherens (or that they won't be wiped out by something). In turn they set up certain rules the mortals should adhere to, that are in long-term good for them even if sometimes hard to follow. They receive veneration as a payment, and use mortals as a pawns in their schemes.
