Giants
Giants are the least known of the results of the Xylian Dominion's genmaturgic project. They were created as elite combatants for their army, supposed to use their durability and immense strength to break through enemy formations. Just like the ogres, they suffered from large-scale malfunctions in their mentalsculpt which led to their loyalty to the Dominion quickly crumbling.
In the end, most of them simply wandered off, quickly devolving into a primitive hunter/gatherer lifestyle, living nomadic lives in small family groups travelling through the wilderness of Karadia and doing their best not to be noticed by the Dominion. Xyls responded with a complete lack of interest in them, deeming the giants as not a threat to the Dominion, and let them leave like this.
When the Dominion fell, the giants has mostly fell into the thralldom to the Wild Courts, with the few that avoided that fate usually falling into the Nine Hordes.
They also changed. The mentalsculpt that was supposed to ensure that they'd be simpleminded brutes have broken completely, making giants more and more humanlike in terms of intellect. Today, they are usually undereducated rather than stupid.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Giants grow up to approximately 5-5.5m, which puts a large strain on their hearts and weakens their stamina. They rarely pursue their enemies for long, though their strength is immense, making giants - especially ones that received some protective gear and proper weapon from someone - one of the most dangerous mortal combatants in Karadia.
Unlike their cousins, ogres, they seem to resemble humans more than they do elves.
Genetics and Reproduction
They can crossbreed with other xylmade, but the result (at best) will be sterile and with extremely high chances of genetic defects. As a result, the giants typically stick to their own. They can, however, have children with very supernatural species (such as changelings and the high dragons) and spirits, the latter of which actually happens quite regularly in the Lost Lands.
