SC2020 - Jekross

Jekross is a city build around a dome. The city sits on the very edge of the tidal zone. It is known for its many alien structures used as skeletons for the modern buildings. The preexisting structures made this one of the easiest places to build and therefore, one of the largest cities on the Bright Side. Furthermore, it is located in a rich agricultural zone and the surrounding area not only produces enough food to sustain Jekross, but food is also the biggest export from the Jekross district to the inner cities.
Jekross is one of the oldest human settlements on the foundation. The surrounding soil is fertile, it is close to the coast, and the many alien structures were not only perfect as a skeleton for building a new settlement, but also meant that the settlement was visible from great distances on the flat plains. This meant it served as a natural beacon to attract settlers who landed anywhere on the plains or who landed in the oceans and were washed ashore before the waters consumed them.
Being the first settlement Jekross attracted people of all kinds and it was a hotbed for many different theories - most of them religious. Countless religious sects have been born and forgotten in Jekross. The rulers of Jekross have always played these sects against eachother, before any of them got too big to be a problem. However, in the wake of SC2020 - Wratazi(Tsunami), some sects were fused, other sects absored minor once and all of them gained followers. What little human alterations to the alien structures remained after the tsunami was taken down and a new settlement is being rebuild where each and every alien structure is left untouched and stand as centerpieces for the surrounding buildings.

Government

The religious factions have always been strong in Jekross. However, clever leaders have been able to play them against each other for the most part, to the point were infighting between the various sects stopped them from every holding dominance over the city as a whole. That changed with SC2020 - Wratazi(Tsunami). The wrath of the gods and the efforts the different sect put into relief and rebuilding made them reignited their popularity among the general population and made them aim for the control of the city. This alliance of the faiths against the heathens seems bound to fail though, as their interpretations still do not align very well.

Industry & Trade

On the surface Jekross is one of the least technological advanced of the great cities, but this is due in part to having used their resources to spread out the power of the fusion core and help invigorate their major resource - the surrounding fertile land. The main export of Jekross is food.
