Thaumic Weavers

Unlike beings of Nature, Thaumic beings are not born with the ability to attune to their aura. In an effort to achieve this, Thaumaturges replace their limbs with special thaumic devices known as Thaumic Weavers, silver limbs with a faint purple glow.
An interesting property of Thaumic Weavers is that their user is able to attune to their aura through it as if they were a Nature being.

Access & Availability

Thaumic Weavers are only available to those who reached the status of a Thaumaturge. This requires at least a year's study under a Weaver and a research position within the Academy.

Complexity

As thaumic devices go, Weavers are not that complex. Their core connects to the user's nerves and allows them to move the limb, while the rest is simply silver casing inlaid with thaumic glass.
The more complex part of Thaumic Weavers is their installation. For a thaumic limb to work, it has to "bond" with the user's aura, a process which takes several hours. During these hours, the user's organic limb is removed while they are awake and able to perceive the pain. The combination of these two things (extreme pain and thaumic bonding) makes the Thaumaturge attune to their inner aura, and thus able to Weave. This attunement, however, is only local - Thaumaturges only feel the aura around the replaced limb, not with their whole body.
