The Mythos of the Fulgbo Medicine People
Long ago, when the soil was still new, when the rivers ran high along their banks, and man had first began to take their first steeps, Isri and Kpak agreed that the young peoples needed a guide for when they couldn't be there. A person who was adept in the defenses, in healings, in teachings and in war.
They walked among the peoples of the tribe, watching and searching for the best candidate of their knowledge and the guidance. They walked among them for three days and three nights, searching.
Finally, they chose the son of a buffalo herder. They taught him as their apprentice for 180 nights, taught him of the knowledge of war and honor and family, and, most importantly, of medicine. They taught him how to heal mortal wounds and the wounds of the soul.
They taught him, and he taught his own. When his hair turned white, he chose his own apprentice, and then she chose hers, and they chose and so own and so forth, passing down the healing of the Gods from generation to generation.
