Socialist Republic of Weltkria
A seemingly utopian state surrounded by mountains to the east, plains to the north and sea to the west, Weltkria is one of the few communist states in Galen. It is a one-party state governed by the Socialist Party of Weltkria, which is led by Premier Johannes Grunat, elected by the Promiskitol in the 33rd Congress. The capital is Durmsdorf, nestled in the Fudjia Mountains.
Split into 30 provinces and innumberable administrative zones, the Weltkrian Government is split into three branches - the Promiskitol, Office of the Premier and Advissta. The Office of the Premier is supreme in Weltkrian Affairs, with outside observers noting that the Promiskitol is a thinly-veiled puppet of the Primer and Advissta. The Advissta act as advisors to the Premier.
History
The Workers Revolution of 1721 toppled the Weltkrian Empire, replacing it with the Socialist Republic of Weltkria. The violent revolution would topple the older government, establishing a quasi-democratic state. The Efiak Incident would topple the older government, ushering in the current state of Weltkria.
A period called the blooded months would immediately follow this take-over, with hundreds of politicans and intellectuals being purged. Dissent would not be accepted, resulting in the first "reeducation camps", designated prisons for "reeducation of poltical opponents." These prisons would become famed for their sheer brutatilty, with the full scope of the atrocities being revealed by Weltkrian Defector Carnus Roland in his infamous Parnak Papers.
The Weltkrian state would eventually take over the states of Uriad and Sarsa, establishing puppet governments to form the Workers Alliance. It was the founding of this alliance that lit the spark for the 1st Global War, with the Orandi State initiating Operation Jelito and Operation Storm to decapitate and seize the Weltkrian State.
With the Orandi I corp thrusting into the heart of Weltkria, the Weltkrian Army found itself pushed back on all fronts. Designed for internal security above all else, the Weltkrian Army was routed hundreds of times - constantly giving up territory. It was with the appointment of General Adnae and significant foreign aid through the Allied Assistance Program and multiple allied offensives in South Oranda that enabled the Weltkrian Army to recover. They would eventually advance to the Oradi capital of Orangeville in the Defeaus Campaign, and seize Orangeville with the 1st Ardenian ID during the Battle of the Salts.
Demography and Population
With a 1:1 birth-death ratio, the Weltkrian Population currently exceeds 550 million, and is rapidly growing. According to the Weltkrian State, demography does not exist - all members of Weltkria and the Red Pakt, are considered to be the same race - the "proletariat", going against the Ardenian "Bourgesie". Despite this, external FIA sources note that a demographic collapse may be immient, with less and less people being born as the years grind on.
Military
Sometimes, the despicable Ardenian menace has to be kept away. Sometimes, the people get too rowdy. Sometimes, someone has to jam Radio Free Ardenia and Radio Free Weltkria from broadcasting their evil, capitalist propaganda on the waves. Sometimes, someone has to expand - or, the Red Pakt is under attack by a wave of Fascist Mercenaries.
Enter the MFD - The Ministrat Fur Defense. It controls the Hammer and Scapels of the Weltkrian Military, from the tanks, infantrymen and the spaceships. With it - KOMPTPLAN ALFA - central to the Weltkrian Expansion - calls for defense of RED PAKT members - the Weltkrian “diplomatic” way of expansion - and the “liberation” of the Ardenian People - the slightly harder way, despite the two countries being neighbors.
The National Army is home to Northern Command and the greater Military Industrial Complex - the only organizations where forward thinking thought is encouraged.
Foreign Relations
Relations are completely nonexistent with the Federal Kingdom of Ardenia - and, with it, the sparking of the Outer-Belt-Conflicts has caused tensions to rise to ever greater heights. Dissidents are flooding the RED PAKTs constitutient nations - with the big stick of the Weltkrian Military being the only thing keeping the small nations in line. Thousands of people attempt to defect but are killed assailing the impenetrable "wall for proletarian defense", causing PR to tank in every free nation as snipers fire into Ardenian Territory to kill defectors - as MSID2, and the rest of the Ministry of State Security openly gun down running diplomats, and as defectors die from "sudden heart attacks" - it's gotten to the point where Federal Army assets protect, defend and escort defectors.
Laws
The Weltkrian Government is infamous for it's corruption. Many public officials have enriched themselves by embezzlement, while a lack of audits ensures no proper consequences for delinquent behavior. Multiple unbiased audits run by other countries have revealed billions of eagles lost due to corruption, hampering the Weltkrian system of Government in all ways.
The Weltkrian Government is split into three branches - the Promiskitol, Office of the Premier and Advissta. The Advissta act as advisors to the Premier. The Promiskitol has a single representative from each province.
Lower level representatives are “elected” by the people, for the people, for the Promiskitol. Two representatives are elected from each province for the greater good of the people, and are subjected to “totally legitimate elections”, where representatives, elected by fudged elections, vote on new pieces of legislation - what little opposition there is is all appointed and control. The Promiskotol does not have any control over the Ministry of State Security or any of the functions of state - no, their only reason for existence is to keep the people in a well puppeted trance.
Higher level representatives such as the Advistta are elected through cronyism and corruption, with the exclusion of the Minister of Defense - which is usually elected by the Board of Generals, usually hailing from the Weltkrian Northern Command - the most competent section of the Weltkrian Military. The Advistta has the most control over the Military and the executive - it is the Advistta, which are normally considered advisors to the Premier, that elect a new premier when one dies - the hands of the government are in the hands of a select 9.
Officially, the Premier is in full control of all state functions - however, the current Premier, Johannes Grunat, is currently under threat of a coup d'etat, assuming that the Premier does not meet the demands of the Intelligence Community and the Weltkrian Military Command, respectively.
Agriculture & Industry
A forced crash-industrialization program at the turn of the 1800s resulted in mass starvation - however, at the end of it, life expectancies had rose by... two years. The Weltkrian state heavily relies on overbloated heavy industry and farming to stay alive and to fund the military, to create the most advanced tanks, guns, and other implements of war. While the breadbaskets do produce enough food to feed the nation and her constituents, the self-reliant and aututarkic policies of Weltkria means that Weltkria lags behind in every metric - ranging from HDI to industrial automation.
Trade & Transport
Almost all transportation infrastructure is meant to transport the Military first and the citizen last - this includes the well-mantained highway and railroad system. All transportation infrastructure is designed in such a way to move entire armored columns and divisions with ease, to allow for rapid staging or response to a enemy incursion.
