Breath Styles

Overview

Breath styles are techniques used by one sect of druids in Galatia. Breath Styles make use of specific and concentrated breath patterns, which increase the user's lung capacity and amount of oxygen in the blood. This increase of oxygen allows the user to enhance their physical abilities and mental concentration. Using these breath patterns in conjunction with magic is what allows them to use their druidic abilities and spells. Most styles share many similar techniques with only a few core ones being unique to each style.   Known Breath Styles:
Breath of Fire
Breath of Water
Breath of Stone
Breath of the Beast

Breath of the Beast

Derived from the Breath of Stone, Yin is the creator and solo practitioner of this style. This style is unique in that it only focus on the strengthening and controlling of one's own body. This has the benefit of allowing one to reach their physical limit but at the cost of the versatility that magic spells can provide.   Total concentration breathing is an advance application of the basic breathing techniques. It is the foundation on which the Breath of the Beast style is built upon. By inhaling the maximum amount of oxygen within a breath pattern the user is able to enhance their physical and mental abilities. With enough training user are even able to control muscles to such a degree where they can clot wounds and slow down the circulation of poison in the bloodstream. When mastered this technique allows the user to endure an unnatural amount of physical punishment without any loss to combat effectiveness.   Like with any fighting style Breath of the Beast has several drawbacks. Due to how much one needs to focus on controlling their breathing and body, this breath style is incompatible with many parts of more traditional breath styles, notably magic. With a heavier focus on defense the increase to one’s offensive capabilities is limited when compared to magic or other fighting style.
