Salamandra/Elf

Elves are one of the 4 elemental fey that makes up the majority of the mortal fey population. They appeared very suddenly from during the Great Happening. Elves share a very similar appearance to humans with the exception of slightly longer pointed ears, sharper features, and slightly smaller frames on average. Elves live very long lives of up to several hundred years. Before the Great Happening Merged the worlds of man and fairy, the elves were known as the Salamandra. Most elves have abandoned their old tribal ways and adopted a more civilized stature within the elf dominated regions, but some stay true to their fey heritage.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves are generally slightly shorter than humans on average. They have sharp features including pointed ears, noses, and chins. They have a supernatural protection that covers their skin that slightly protects them from harm.

Genetics and Reproduction

Despite their naturally long lifespan, elves do not overpopulate the lands for it is very difficult for elves to conceive more than 3 times within their life times.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves mature at a slower rate than humans reaching adulthood at around 40 years of age. From there, they could live up to 400 years before dying of old age. Elves are just as subject to disease and death as humans, so it is very common for elves to die long before their natural lifespan has reached its end.
