Departure
Age 20
Today I will be leaving the town to wander. I have counseled with Elder Logan, he encouraged me in this decision. I have not been the same since Gnaw was slain due to my mistake and need something new to help regain my composer. I have always wanted to adventure the wilds like my friend Eric, but have not until now thinking I would take over Ma and Pa's ranch. I will have Nibbs with me to always remind me of her mother's memory.
New Family
Age 19
After taking time away from my normal communal duties, Gnaw has given birth to a litter! I will be raising them to be fine companions for the other hunters, all except for the runt. I would not want to deny Gnaw of all her children and I reserve the right to keep the cutest one. I think I will name her Nibbs...
Auspicious Mark
Age 19
We had a festival in town over the last few days. During which myself and others would display our worth to the town in designated stalls with farming produce, livestock, manufactured goods and the like. I chose to go on a hunting spree to gather trophies for my display. Over the first two days I gathered three wolf pelts, a bear pelt, the head of a twelve point stag, and the head of a larger then normal crocodile. I thought it a good haul, and on the final day of the festival my stall was crowded and filled with remarks of wonder and shock. Apparently the crocodile was infamous among the veteran hunters as the terror named "Smiles". I somehow did not know about that but it won me the contest. Elder Logan pulled my aside to award me my prize after the festivities had died down. He said to me, "I see a grand fate in store for you child, this mark of the Old God Phoenix will help guide and protect you." I do not know if I believe in this great fate he spoke of, but Logan has never steered me wrong in the past. The tattoo doesn't look half bad either.
Gorilla Troubles
Age 18
Today I fought a gorilla. She had been causing trouble at the edge of town. When I went to hunt her down I found that her mate had been slain by another hunter of ours. Poor thing was enraged. Between that and having her young with her, it would have been bad sport to kill her. I could not leave her as she was though. So I did the best thing I could, I wrestled her into submission and knocked her out with my bare hands to make sure she wasn't seriously hurt. Afterwards I tracked down the rest of her troop and carried her and her young back to them. I will have to deal with a couple broken ribs for my kindness, but it was worth it.
Achievement
Age 16
I have done it! I have tamed my first animal friend! A tiger, I'll name her Gnaw. Now that I have done this I am a full fledged Beastmaster and a full adult who can vote on town matters. I would like to follow in Eric's footsteps but Ma and Pa want me to stay and take over the chocobo ranch later in life. For now, I am content with my achievement.
First Entry
Age 15
Friend Eric is leaving village today, am happy for him. I will miss him and all his eccentricities. He would often come to me and say things like, "You should teach a dinosaur to sing for me," or, "When you get your first animal companion, you should replace its teeth with gold!" Once he even declared himself Ericano Erico after meeting a Tarutaru and learning that they all have names like that. I will make sure to have many stories for him whenever we can meet again.
