Psions

Psions are small sub-atomic particles.   Psions have 8 key properties:
  1. Source Plane (Well) - All psions are from one of 18 source planes, separated by a planar difference of 2π planes. This also gives a psion its chromatic, which is the colour perceived when that psion is used by a psionic. The 18 wells are: Fire, Storming, Communicas, Strengthening, Dissonance, Deceit, Battling, Truth, Traversal, Peace, Fortune, Endurance, Tranquility, Foresight, Health, Menace, Arbitration, and The Abyss.
  2. Power Tap - All psions have a power tap. This is either direct (the source plane outlet), or indirect. If indirect, then it may be specified by one of the psionic concentrations that exist.
  3. Potency - Each psion has a given potency. This determines how strongly it can affect its surroundings, including (latent) psionics.
  4. Energy - Every psion has a given energy which is linked to its velocity and potency. Both are a directly proportional relationship.
  5. Decay Factor - Psions will have a decay factor unless they are: > Interacting with another psion > Under the influence of a psionic > Undergoing a forced Plane Translation - Additionally, psions will have a decreased decay factor if they are: > Saturated in plasma > Under meson bombardment - Otherwise, all psions will have a decay factor determined by their Source Plane, Power Tap, and Potency. This can be used to determine the half life of a psion before it decays. Upon decay, the psion will either produce two photons along viable energy paths, or if less than 2 energy paths are available, flip.
  6. Mass - All psions have 0 rest mass.
  7. Charge - All psions in the chromatic range have a charge of 0.
  8. Colour (not Chromatic) - Colour (no to be confused with Chromatic/Source Plane) is a contextual property of psions. They take either the colour of the quark nearest to them or the anti- colour of the closest quark but will not take an anti- colour, where distance is measured by the mapped energy path(s). i.e. a psion near a red quark will be red, but not anti-red, and a psion near an anti-red quark will be red but not anti-red.

Energy Paths and Mapping
Energy paths are the valid paths through which a psion may move. There are multiple rules governing this, not all of which are known. The known ones are:
  1. They must not interact with a neutrino.
  2. The path must not extend more than 22.3334 micrometers (4 d.p.) from its previous decay point, i.e. if they are prevented from decaying, then their paths become limited.

Chromatic Range
The chromatic range is the range of observable psions. This range is the 18 source planes as well as some portion of the far side slopes of the extreme source planes. It is 37.5π planes.
