Quolourhom (Venus)

Quolourhom is often known as the queer capital of the solar system. Although city much more than that - it take more than an image to survive on Venus - Quolourhom's hospitality towards LGBTQ+ people is still core to the city's culture and identity. What made Quolourhom so successful was it's ability to monopolize specialties within the solar system who were either heavily regulated or harassed by Quolourhom agents for not being based out of Quolourhom.

Demographics

In Quolourhom's culture, there are nine different genders and sixteen subgenders. The genders spread among two axes, and individual's gender anywhere within the two dimensional spectrum. They can change over time, have no gender or can have multiple at once. One axis is masculine to feminine and generally an easy concept to grasp. The other axis would be directly translated as abstract to defined. The diffence between defined and abstract is very difficult to understand without being in contact with them. Traditional sence of male and female would most likely to be considered defined. Each gender is considered masculine, androgynous, or feminine as well as defined, neutral, or abstract. Subgenders are considered between different genders. About 45% of the population identifies as masculine, 45% identities as feminine, and 15% identifies as neither. About 80% identifies as defined about 15% identifies as abstract, and 5% as neither. About 50% of the population are attracted to masculine, about 50% are attracted to feminine, and 10% to neither. About 90% of the population are attracted to defined, about 20% to abstract, and 5% to neither. Often, Quolers will have have multiple sexual relationships at one time but only one romantic relationship. However multiple romantic relationships are not strictly bad if everyone involved agrees to it. This complicated web who expresses what gender and who is attracted to whom creates a very complex social system, especially when considering how important romantic sexual relationships are in the culture. This exotic culture can be very intimidating to outsiders. Although since Quolers always been required to do business with outsiders, they are quite tolerant and friendly and have a good sense of what outsiders will understand.

Government

Under The Venutian Free Cities Pact, the government is an elected kritarchy as a city within the confederation of The Venutian Free Cities Pact. The high court of Quolourhom is elected, by taking the nine highest voted candidates. However the city is most famous for it's system of support groups who own a majority of the property. Most Quolourhom citizens identify with a support group who will represent a particular set of genders and sexual orientations they feel are related to each other. The interactions between these support groups, particularly calling into question each other's legitimacy creates most of the city's complicated politics.
