According to the writings found in the abandoned tower of the Knights Templar, the stage of magic drain in the early Middle Ages was accompanied by massive devastations. It sounds logical: sorcerers lose power, become weaker, and easier to beat. However, the records come from the Middle East, from the territory of Mesopotamia, which at the time of the leak was under the control of the Persians, and later - the Muslims. Both those and those did not treat sorcerers negatively. At least the way Christians do. In the case of the latter, sorcerers became an important aid to the success of the conquest. However, it is difficult to understand from the notes when exactly access to ancient magic was lost: before the Arab invasion or after it.

In any case, the treatises indicate that these devastations had their provocateurs. They appeared out of nowhere, warmed the people up for a riot, watched what was happening, and then disappeared. These devastations brought considerable harm to the entire magical sphere: many spells were forgotten, and only a few of them were able to be recreated or restored with the help of magicians from the west and from Byzantium. The provocateurs are called "emissaries" in the Templar chronicles. Their nature is unknown, the reasons for their appearance and disappearance are also unknown. They could be simple leaders by occasion, or they could be Christian fanatics or spies of Rome. They could even be time travelers, given their way of appearing and disappearing.

Они могли быть простыми пассионариями, они могли быть христианскими фанатиками или шпионами Рима. Могли даже быть путешественниками во времени, если учитывать их манеру появляться и исчезать.
