Fragments of the Ash

There is so much to tell you, Flower, but papers are as scarce as your presence and love...
Fragments of the Ash is a series of letters and confessions written by The Ashen Born towards a person nicknamed "Flower". These fragments were collected throughout the years on Frantumare and compiled into a journal. The Ashen Priests guard this journal religiously, fearing that The Ashen Born's weakness will be exposed, though not much is noted in the journal other than the mentioned person "Flower".   The papers are observed to have water drop stains and crude writing. It is speculated those are the true handwritings of The Ashen Born, but none dared to admit that the stains could be tear stains.

Centuries of Confession

If only you knew how much I loathe that life, Flower. No matter what good I did, they will scorn and mock. Treating me like an animal. All I wish was to be with you, to ask for your hand. I yearn to see your smile once more...
In the letters, The Ashen Born expresses their loathing of their old life and wishes. They confessed their pain and sorrow of not being accepted, assuming The Ashen Born had bottled these emotions for centuries. During these parts of the letters, tear stains can be seen on the papers.
I lied to you so much. When I first see you, I thought about killing you for my Master. He requested specifically of a girl with flowers in her hair. I did try to kill you myself, but the kindness you showed me. The smile you offered, and the gentle hands that treated my wounds and sorrow... I fell in love with you, Flower.   But my Master used that against me...
The biggest regret The Ashen Born confessed is to have fallen in love with "Flower". The Ashen Born confessed of sacrificing "Flower" for their master but changed their mind in the end. However, this action caused the chain of events that leads to the destruction of Maerus.
