Aotl
(a.k.a. God of Death)
Aotl is a less popular, but nevertheless very necessary and powerful god. In many respects he represents the very opposite of Vitia, death, and the opposite of Qholos, darkness. Followers of Aotl are often feared as they have a far more comfortable relationship with death, for better or worse.

Philosophy
The universe craves balance, and death is the ultimate balance. All that lives must die. All that is created must be destroyed.
Good vs Evil
Evil is merely a description that is given to the unpleasant or uncomfortable. It does not mean bad, nor wrong. The universe naturally rewards good, life and light. Given the chance such ideas would grow like a plague, and the universe would stagnate. Evil is the balance that propels the universe forward
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Death is the ultimate maintainer of balance in the universe. All things must die, and therefor even the most unbalancing aspects of the universe must end.

Followers
While followers of the Lesser Gods and deities under Aotl's domain tend to be evil, followers of Aotl himself have a much more nuance view of the world. They understand the core of Aotl's existence, and follow his tenants of balance, and the necessity for things that may otherwise be uncomfortable or unpleasant. This does not change the fact that his followers are generally misunderstood, hated, and feared.
