Starting with the Archipelago world and evolving into the established Fractured Hydra.   The story starts (so far) with the city of Qun'Lorax in the Archipelago world during a techno-magical era when wizards and the educated pushed the boundaries of magic. They learned and exploited every aspect of nature, the arcane, and the cosmos. Some believe that even the Gods bowed before the will of the techno-mages, or perhaps even enslaved by them.   The hubris of the techno-mages ultimately resulted in their downfall. They tapped into magics more powerful than they could handle, and the nation-state was lost, plunging the world into one with no magic for 2000 years. The gods turned a blind eye to the plight of the sentient races for 100 generations as punishment for their arrogance. The arcane world was fractured and chaotic. Those who has a natural talent for magic were hunted and exterminated before they could cause harm to the world.   When magic returned to the world, the dragons began to rise once again. They were initially hunted, before allying with the sentient races. Another 1000 years of collaboration with the dragons, before The Shattered War began.   To prevent the ultimate destruction of the cosmos Guskin, a mighty gold dragon, using the Staff of Regenesis destroyed and rebuilt the world with new rules to maintain balance and preserve the cosmos.    The world was reformed into the pangaean continent Akroa. One of each dragon type was preserved as a Dragon-God , and given a realm of their own, where they can rule how they wanted with out interference from others. Each realm was surrounded with a impenetrable magical barrier that prevented dragons from crossing into each other's realm
