Marked by the Foul
Those who spend too much time in the Foul, those who become too infected, risk becoming marked by the condition.
Causes
Foul infection, unless purified, builds up in the infected until it becomes strong enough to force a physical affliction. These afflictions appear on the body in various forms, usually easy to hide until one's affliction progresses further.
Symptoms
Symptoms of being "Marked by the Foul" include Itching Rashes, Discolorations of the skin, abnormal bumps, boils, or in the unseen effect of worsening nightmares.

Determining a creature's affliction requires a d100 roll. The result determines the affliction from the table below.
- 1-33: Nightmares - Character Passes out and experiences Horrific Nightmares increasing in intensity from vaguely uncomfortable to maddeningly terrifying for 1d6 hours
- 34-65: Itching Rashes - Skin begins to discolor and itch, eventually losing moisture and turning Purple
- 66-100: Strange Growths - Boils, Bumps, and strange discolorations mar the skin. These marks grow with each progression
Treatment
Once Marked, Purification can not longer remove the infected's afflictions, but can still lower their rate of infection to prevent the affliction from progressing.

Only Spells like Wish, or the Intervention of god-like entities can remove a Mark
Prognosis
But Marking is not the end result of Foul Infection. Should one allow their infection to continue to grow, so will the strength of the afflictions of the Marked. In time, the Marked will become Marred by their exposure to the Foul.

A creature who is marked begins tracking Marks, between 1 and 4 Marks the creature's affliction only gets worse. At 5 Marks, the creature becomes Marred, and their affliction progresses to the next stage.
