Fringetown
"Very much the 'wrong side of the tracks'. Hell, some people literally live under them."Fringetown (sometimes divided into Lower and Upper Fringetown) is the shantytown sprawling the southwest outskirts of the city. The area wraps around the outside of the Decay Belt like a ring, and is without a doubt the part of the city where poverty is the worst. Whereas The Cluster is very chaotic in nature, it still has some structure and order similar to its slightly better-off inner city counterpart Forum - the little entrepeneurship Fringetown offers is fragile, temporary and prone to destruction or robbery. Most of the inhabitants work in the Cluster, and the ones who don't are forced into an unlucky choice of either crime or starvation. The area is separated from Boulder Grounds in the north by the elevated highway bridge towering over the area. A literal wall of waste and garbage has built up under the bridge, which is sometimes ironically referred to as "Little Gomino".
