The Cluster
"Skyscrapers built from nothing. How anything in that place stays together is beyond me."The Cluster is the central area of the Decay Belt. One of few places in the world where the description "high-rise shantytown" can be correctly applied, many buildings in The Cluster compete in height with those in for example Campwall, and thus are extremely unsafe. There are major accidents every few years where parts of larger buildings collapse, which usually results in the area being slightly "cleaned up" temporarily following rescuing efforts. Since almost none of the Cluster's inhabitants are registered citizens of Fortune City, it is hard to get an exact number on how many live there permanently. Cluster dwellers who have a lawful income are mainly shopkeepers, repair mechanics, work in small-scale factories inside the Cluster or larger, organized industry north of the Decay Belt. An estimated majority, however, gets part of or all their income from illicit business including drug manufacturing/dealing, theft, smuggling, prostitution and paid violence/murder.
