Caserlic
Caserlic is the capital of Forthrim and is the largest of The Ten Cities. Within the walls of the city can be found the Grey Palace, where King Steor sits upon his throne.
Demographics
While most of the citizens of Caserlic are human, it is very common to see elves, dwarves, halflings, and gnomes, and not infrequent to see other races as well.
Government
While ultimately the city is governed by King Steor, most affairs are handled by the Scir Tolgo Bloodwind.
Defences
Caserlic is walled in and there are four main lookout towers placed around the Isle of Deer to watch over the castle and the city as a whole.
Industry & Trade
Being the capital city, there is a fair amount of trade. Every occupation that can be found in a capital city is here, from cobblers and blacksmiths to rat-catchers and candle-makers.
Infrastructure
Many courtyards can be found in the city, around which one may find shops or homes, depending on what district one is in. The roads are well made and well maintained. There are two main bridges across the River Lina.
History
Caserlic was founded as Forthrim's capital about 400 years ago, when it was decided that the nation should have a capital more accessible from all of the country. It was at this time that the Nine Cities became the Ten Cities.
Architecture
The buildings on the Isle of Deer are mostly made of stone, as are the surrounding buildings. Farther from the center of the city, the buildings start to be more made of wood with thatched roofs.
Geography
Caserlic sits in the middle of the country in a plain, with the River Lina running through its center. In the very center of the city the river splits and comes back together, creating the Isle of Deer.
Natural Resources
Flocks of sheep are kept in the hills surrounding the city, but there is little else for natural resources except for the water of the River Lina.
