Charred Mountains

Blackened peaks reach towards the blue sky divided by a narrow pass separating the Charred Mountains in two halves.

Geography

A dot of color in the midst of the yellow deserts around the area. These black, deserted mountains form a line next to Mael Springs along the south coast of the continent. Marking the lower boundary of the south eastern desert the mountains are unnaturally black. Having a perfect view over the ocean from the sides of the mounain, many lookouts and outposts were established, but the majority are deserted by now. This gives the sea facing cliffs a pockmarked look, where the long forgotten outposts reach from the mountains into the sea.

Fauna & Flora

The mountais are almost without any flora. The blackened rocks don't allow many plants to flourish which leads to mostly barren areas on and around the mountains. Due to the lack of any plantlife and water on the high tops of the mountains, it is difficult for any species to assert themselves. The biggest animals are lizards and lizardlike creatures. It is rumored lizardhumanoids to live hidden in those mountains.

Natural Resources

The inhospitable nature of these mountains resisted all attempts to uncover its hidden, natural resources. This is not for a lack of trying on the part of a few different factions. But none were successfull so far. Even the prospectors mostly never returned and those that returned spoke of ghostly stories.
