Helheim

Helheim is the realm of Hel, the Goddess of and Watcher of the Dead.

Geology

Helheim is located along a river just inside of Helgrind. Helgrind is a great gate in the opening of the cave surrounding Hel, it protects the other 8 realms from Helheim opening.  A river flows into Helgrind with waters from the sap of the root Destiny. The center of Helheim is an endless swamp/bog with a great lake surrounding it.  There is a stone path which leads through the bog to the center where Hel stands, watching and stirring the waters with the souls of the dead within.

Ecology

Some dead vegetation can be found around the cave of Helheim. Not much grows or lives inside of Helheim, aside from specters and wraiths. The swamp is supported with dead, knotted and twisted trees and shrubs. They are hosts for spectral vegetation that grows in another dimension than our living one. The vegetation can be glimpsed with spectral vision if one has it.

Inhabitants

The Goddess Hel, the giant wolf Fenrir and the souls of the dead, some recruited into specters and wraiths.
