Nation Guide

This Guide will give a general overview of each nation.

The focal point of this campaign will revolve around the relationship of the first 3 nations below.

The Adrestian Empire

The oldest of the three countries, the Adrestian Empire has slowly changed from the centerpoint of the church and into an antireligiousland of scholars.
Adrestia is an empire the people there generally carry a profession demeanor when in public. Adrestia is the most powerful of the 3 nations, not to mention they hav most highest skilled mages and best technology of the 3.

The Holy Kingdom of Faerghus

A kingdom of knights and warriors, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus now stands divided, as the Empire's forces have annexed much of the land.
Faerghus is a Kingdom. The cities here are closer together promoting more interaction between Lords and the Nobles and commoners. You know your local representative in name and in action. Faerghus is the coldest nation and boast the best physical warriors and cavaliers. They jest that kids in Faerghus learn to hold a dagger before a fork

The Leicester Alliance

The Alliance is composed of various noblemen who have grouped together for their common interests, but now stand on the verge of collapse.
Alliance culture varying from dukedom to dukedom, but in general the people here are easy going. Leicester is a haven for merchants, craftsmen, and financial criminals. Leicester features the best archers, and bards.
Leicester is also the most receptive to refugees, especially from the neighboring nations of Almyra, and Sreng.

The Abyss

Underneath Garreg Mach lies ruins and tunnels older than the Monastery itself. The caverns of Abyss have been home to fugitives and criminals for centuries. While the Church has always been aware of its existence, it has tolerated their prescience so that Abyss could serve to preserve the Church in the event of a catastrophe. They were right to do so, as Abyss is now home to many refugees from the Church and other regions.
Abyss is something of an "open secret", talking about it casually is taboo, but knowledge of it isn't anything special. Entrances to Abyss, however, are more closely guarded. Seemingly hundreds exist, but the few that are more common knowledge are heavily guarded.

Beyond Fodlan

For several centuries, the Church of Seiros has discouraged interaction with other nations unless neccesary. Because of this, information regarding the other nations of the world is scarce. This section will attempt to fill in the blanks as best it can.

Brigid

A tropical Archipelago, Brigid is composed of three main islands, each with their own subcultures, but they are all unified under one king, currently the head of the Macneary family.
Now, Brigid is a vassal state of the Empire, and is in a tense situation. Many rebellions are occuring simultaneously, and Brigid stands on the brink of collapse.
Brigid shares close relations with Dagda, which lead to their combined effort to invade Fodlan. Many of the people of Brigid regard those of Fodlan as weak and spoiled.

Almyra

Almyra is a massive nation to the east of Fodlan. Almyra's size is slightly larger than Fodlan in its entirety. Almyra has a king that rules over the entirety of the land, but in order to manage the territories, various regents control different subterritories on the king's behalf.
Most of the world's known Dragonborn hail from Almyra.

Duscur

A peaceful Huma nation to the north, Duscur is divided into two parts: South Duscur, which is connected to Fodlan, and North Duscur, a peninsula that attaches to the northern lands. When most people in Fodlan talk about Duscur, they speak of South Duscur.
North and South Duscur have very similar cultures, but South Duscur now lies mostly empty of high ranking officials, as they have mostly fleed to prepare forces in North Duscur for kingdom forces. Only vassals and commoners remain in the south for now.
Long ago Nothern Duscur was home to several settlements of Gnomes, Halflings, and several other races. Due to natural migration several thousand halfling, and gnomes that within the borders of Fódlan.

Dagda

Dagda is not actually a nation, but rather an entire continent far to the west of Fodlan. There are no actual natives to Dagda, or if there were, they were long gone by the time settlers got there.
The first recorded settlers of Dagda arrived around Imperial year 589, and progress in taming the wild continent has been extremely slow.
Dagda's size puts Fodlan to shame, and some say it stretches from the southern tip of the world all the way to the north. This great size has confused explorers, who all come back with different accounts of the landscape based on where they landed.
Dagda is a diverse and mysterious land, no one in Fódlan truly knows what races make up the civilzations of Dagda.

Sreng

A wasteland with a violent climate, Sreng is home to a number of warrior clans. In 1140, many of the southern clans were wiped out or assimilated in the annexation of the southern Sreng region.

Morfis

Morfis is mainly compromised of 3 towers that cover a huge island south-east of Fodlan. The land is home to many scholars and merchants, who enjoy the safety of Morfis' isolation. Morfis has earned the name of "Cities of illusion" due to the ways that the city is enhanced through various cosmetic illusions. The lesser known part of Morfis are the small villages that live on it's western coast. These people of these villages spend their entire lives trying to accrue wealth to move to one of the towers or immigrate to another land.

Albinea

A frozen wasteland northwest of Fodlan. Albinea isn't much of a nation, more of just a few isolated settlements on a shared landmass. Each has their own customs and traditions. Many of the inhabitants emigrated from Fódlan or Duscur during times of tradegy and conflict.
