Human Ethnicities of Fódlan Compilation

Human

Most of the people of Fodlan are human, however, they vary greatly from region to region. The regions presented are based mostly on culture, so if your character has mixed lineage, choose whichever culture they exemplify most.
  Ability Score Increase: You have two different ability scores you can increase, one based on your region, and a different score that you may choose. You may choose one score to increase by 2 and the other is increased by 1.
  Feat: You gain one feat of your choice that does not increase an ability score.
  Region: You gain additional abilities base on what region you were raised in. Choice one of the following regions below.
  Speed: Your speed is 30ft.

Adrestian Empire (Adrestian, or Imperial)


Ability Score: Intelligence
  Imperial Schooling: You gain proficiency in one
intelligence-based skill of your choice, and you learn one wizard cantrip of your choice, Intelligence is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.
  Languages: Fodlan plus one additional language of you choice.
  Appearance: The people of Adrestia are mostly the same as the rest of Fodlan, being white-skinned with varying hair color, but immigrants from Brigid and Mach give some diversity.

Kingdom of Faerghus (Faerghan)


Ability Score: Strength
  Dauntless: You have advantage on saves against being frightened, and you have resistance to psychic damage.   Martial Training: You gain proficiency in two simple or martial weapons of your choice.
  Languages: Fodlan plus one additional language of you choice.
  Appearance: The people of Faerghus tend to be larger than the other nations, and vibrant hair colors are less common. Like the rest of Fodlan they are generally whiteskinned, though some families have Duscan and/or Sreng lineage, giving a more tan complexion.

Leicester Alliance (Ally)


Ability Score: Charisma
  Merchant Teachings: You gain proficiency in one skill and artisan's tool of your choice.
  Ranged Expertise: Once per short or long rest, whenever you make a ranged attack, you may choose to gain advantage on the attack. You must use this ability before rolling.
  Languages: Fodlan plus one additional language of you choice.
  Appearance: Vibrant hair colors are quite common, whether a person was born with it or not. Again, mostly white, but Almyran immigrants add some brown skin to the mix.

Church of Seiros


Ability Score: Wisdom
  Answered Prayers: Choose one 1st-level cleric spell of your choice, you may cast this spell once without expending a spell slot, you regain the use of this spell on a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.
  Church Teachings: You gain proficiency in the religion skill.
  Languages: Fodlan plus one additional language of you choice.
  Appearance: There's no defined appearance, as these people can come from anywhere, but a common trend is more modest and reserved fashion.

Almyra


Ability Score: Constitution
  Savage Attacks: When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon’s damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit.
  Languages: Fodlan, Almyran.
  Appearance: The people of Almyra have darker skin than in Fodlan, with west Almyrans being brown-skinned, and east Almyrans being black-skinned. Another defining trait of Almyrans are their orange eyes.

Duscur


Ability Score: Constitution
  Tempered Fortitude: You gain resistance to cold damage, and you do not suffer the ill effects of naturally cold weather.
  Grand Immovable: When you take the dodge action on your turn, you cannot be moved against your will except by creatures that are huge or larger, and your AC increases by 2. These bonuses apply while the effects of the dodge action are active.
  Languages: Fodlan, Duscan.
  Appearance: The people of Duscur are known for their immense size, but also for their surprisingly tan complexion and pure white hair.

 

Niidles (Niidlians)


Ability Score: Wisdom
  Druid Teachings: You gain proficiency in one either nature, survival, or medicine and you learn one druid cantrip of your choice. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.
  Languages: Fodlan + Druidic
  Appearance: The Niidles are a race of humans that evolved parallel to humans of Fódlan. They generally maintain darker skin tone and the roof of their skull is made of a mushroom. The appearance of your mushroom can vary wildly in color, shape, and size.

 

Brigid


Ability Score: Wisdom
  Hunter's Training: You gain proficiency in two simple or martial weapons and one Wisdom-based skill of your choice.
  Fleet-Footed: Your speed increases to 35ft.
  Languages: Fodlan, Brigid.
  Appearance: The people of Brigid have slightly tanner skin than those of Fodlan, but otherwise look mostly the same.

 

Morfan


Ability Score: Intelligence
  Strict Education: Choose one 1st-level sorcerer spell of your choice, you may cast this spell once without expending a spell slot, you regain the use of this spell on a long rest. Constitution is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.
  Morfan Teachings: You gain proficiency in the arcana, or survival skill.
  Languages: Fodlan, Morfan
Appearance: Generally darked-skinned and many wear traditional Morfan turbans/headdress just due to weather.Many Morfans have very vibrant green or hazel eyes

Dagdan


Ability Score: Dexterity
  Martial Prowess: You gain proficiency in three simple or martial weapons and light armor.
  Night Tactics: You gain darkvision out to 30ft.
  Languages: Fodlan, Dagdan, plus one additional language
  Appearance: Dagdans vary greatly, but a common theme is darker hair and eye colors.

 

Abyss (Abyssian)


Ability Score: Dexterity.
  Shady Dealings: You gain proficiency in Thieves' tools and one of the following skills: Deception, Stealth, Slight of Hand, Insight.
  Night Tactics: You gain darkvision out to 30ft.
  Languages: Fodlan plus one additional language
  Appearance: Like with the Church, the people of Abyss have no set appearance, but due to discrimination, many people of other nations were forced to the depths of Abyss, and thus the area is quite diverse.

 
Note Abyss is a place in Fodlan, not the abyss as in the plane of existence.
