Session 9

General Summary

The group witnessed a mass exodus of Halflings in Saltmarsh due to the death of Mannistrad Copperlocks. Hallos voiced suspicion of Ace's involvement in this death. The party decided to travel to a volcano in search of obsidian and potentially dragon Scales to sell to the Blacksmith in Saltmarsh. Ocean brought this up because they wanted to pay off their Bone Rapier commission. After buying some horses and Jasper becoming a pied piper of Elk the party had smooth travels. They witnessed a swarm of will-o-wisps devour an Elk, and were lucky to go undetected. They found some obsidian deposits along the river and decided to follow it directly to the volcano. While camping along the riverbank a giant crocodile tried to sneak up on them, but it was no match for this crew. Thanks to Jasper's summoning skills the party had a fast trip to the mouth of the volcano via giant owls. Their arrival awoke an adult red dragon that was sleeping beneath the lava. After a tense battle they managed to slay the beast and with some careful digging got to the dragons hoard. Two days of travel back to Saltmarsh later they sell the bounty of their labour and Jasper commissions a set of armour made from the bones and scales of the Dragon they defeated. The party begins discussing their next move with talk of an assassination job Ace has been offered, and a quest for a magic staff that Jasper desperately wants.
