Beauty Ideals

Dwarves find beards especially large, clean, and intricately braided ones very attractive. They are also partial to stockier builds. The wider or thicker you are the more beautiful.

Gender Ideals

Dwarves have matriarchal society due to their worship of The Forgemaiden so all leadership roles tend to be women. As male and female dwarves don't look very different women will sometimes wear headbands or arm bands as a signifer. Non binary Dwarves will sometimes cut their hair or beard to present their gender.

Courtship Ideals

Dwarves love for knowledge extends to how they view courtship. Their main way to show affection is to learn as much about their partner and about their interests, and offering new information to their partners that they believe they would enjoy. With higher status dwarves courting gets competitive since being chosen by a woman in power is a huge honor.

Relationship Ideals

Dwarven society is primarily polyandry, dwarven women will have multiple husbands (and wives), the more partners the higher your status. Dwarves get very competitive when trying to prove to a Dwarven woman that they are a worthy partner.

Common Dress Code

Dwarves live in cold climates so they are pretty much always covered. The more body hair you show off the more revealing or provoctaive you are considered.

Common Taboos

Despite their love for knowledge Dwarves fear magic especially arcane magic as their scholars are fairly certain arcane magic is what caused the first generation of people to collapse.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Dwarves find the Dragonborn way of life oppressive and think they lack freedom, and their draconic features make the dwarves uncomfortable as many dwarven settlements were made in he remains of dragon lairs.
The Halflings are violent savages, but their magical practices are fascinating and any dwarf would love to study them.
The Orcs have a fascinating naval culture that baffles dwarves who rarely see the ocean.
The Plane Touched make for fascinating study material but everything else about them just smells like trouble.
