The plane of darkness. Most mortal souls must pass through here on their way to an afterlife, if they don't simply get stuck here permanently.

Geography

The geography of the Shadowfel is actually much like the geography of Ferkathas, on a grand scale, as if the Shadowfel were in fact a shadow of the Prime Plane.
